EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH - 10/04/12 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012-~;XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2012-03 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2453 NORTH RIVERSIDE DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2012-03 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On October 4, 2012, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2012-03) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2012-03) of the Walker House, located at 2453 North <br />Riverside Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Walker House has distinctive architectural features of the Spanish <br />Colonial Revival style, and was built in 1931. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Key because it "has a <br />distinctive architectural style and quality." <br />D. Character-defining exterior features of the Walker House that should be <br />preserved include, but may not be limited to, materials and finishes <br />(stucco, wood, wrought iron and red tiles); asymmetrical treatment of <br />elements on the facade; roof configuration and detailing; original windows <br />and doors where extant; stepped chimney; architectural details such as <br />the door surrounds and shutters. Other distinctive and character defining <br />features include a porthole window above the front door with wrought iron <br />ornamentation. <br />E. The legal owners of the subject property are James and Gretchen Penner. <br />F. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />Resolution No. 2012-XXX <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
