Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Zebron Contracting, Inc. for the rehabilitation and lining of sewer manholes for a <br />one-year period, with provisions for three one-year renewals, in an annual amount not to exceed <br />$75,000, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Water Resources Division performs an ongoing assessment of the condition of its <br />8,000 concrete and brick sewer manholes throughout the City. Staff identified 25 sewer manholes in <br />need of rehabilitation, a process that repairs and seals the interior of the manhole with a polyurethane <br />coating. The recommended action will repair leakage and prevent structural failure while extending <br />the life of manholes for a fraction of the cost of replacement. The award amount reflects the funds <br />budgeted for this service during the upcoming contract year. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on April 1, 2013 and bids were solicited. A summary of the <br />bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />4 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />2 Bids received <br />Bids were received, opened on April 11, 2013, and evaluated (Exhibit 1).
