Assist the City to develop FY 2014 programmatic funding priorities and share with City's <br />congressional delegation, California Senators and local government stakeholder <br />organizations and urban area representatives to develop coalition support for the City's <br />priorities. <br />April - June 2013 <br />• Follow up with the City's congressional delegation, California Senators and key committees, <br />including meetings with appropriations and authorizing committees on the City's federal <br />priorities. <br />• Maintain close communication with the City's congressional delegation, California Senators <br />and key congressional and department/agency staff on the City's priorities. <br />• Monitor budget and appropriations hearings as they relate to the City's priority federal <br />programs. <br />• Identify and alert City to pending grant opportunities capable of supporting the City's <br />priority local projects and initiatives. <br />• Provide update on pending and developing legislative and regulatory activity pertinent to <br />the City's federal interests. <br />June - September 2013 <br />• Schedule meetings with federal departments/agencies as needed to advocate for grant <br />opportunities to support the City's local projects and initiatives. <br />• Assist City with organization of necessary local, regional and federal political support to <br />present the most compelling federal grant application packages possible. <br />• Provide input to congressional delegation, California Senators and congressional <br />appropriations committee leaders on City's programmatic funding priorities in FY 2014 <br />appropriations legislation. <br />• Ongoing work on appropriations issues, including around markups. <br />• Provide input to Administration on the President's FY 2015 budget. <br />• Identify and alert City to pending grant opportunities capable of supporting the City's <br />priority local projects and initiatives. <br />• Provide update on pending and developing legislative and regulatory activity pertinent to <br />the City's federal interests. <br />October-December 2013 <br />Conduct advocacy on City's programmatic funding and legislative policy priorities as <br />Congress makes final negotiations on FY 2014 appropriations legislation and works to wrap <br />up business for the year. <br />Continue to provide strategic support to the City on its federal grant funding requests. <br />Evaluate 2013 outcomes and work with City to prepare federal agenda for coming year <br />based on congressional and administration priorities and political landscape. <br />Holland & Knight Confidential Presentation for the City of Santa Ana 11 <br />25A-24
