Agreement for Active Shooter Training Program <br />May 6, 2013 <br />Page 2 <br />This comprehensive training program will better equip public safety personnel with the skills they <br />need to respond to an active shooter event. In addition, the program will train local instructors in order <br />to build a training cadre which can continue training additional personnel and maintain perishable <br />skills. <br />The contract was awarded to the Government Training Institute, Inc. after successfully completing the <br />competitive bidding process. The RFP 13-005 was issued February 12, 2013 and two qualified bids, <br />one from Government Training Institute and one from Andrews International, were received by <br />closing date March 5, 2013. The bids were reviewed by representatives of the urban area and <br />Government Training Institute, Inc., received the highest scores based on experience, curriculum and <br />costs. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the FY 2011 UASI Grant fund account (no. 12514407-62300-12424001187- <br />3498) as approved by the City Council with Resolution No. 2011-061. <br />APPROVED AS TO F NDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Carlos Rojas Francisco Gutierrez <br />Acting Chief of Police Executive Director <br />Police Department Finance & Mgmt.
