FILED <br />MAR 2 71957 <br />TO THE HONORABLE, Al _; ,,.MIN.,PAST M <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: CLERK CF THE COUNCIL <br />The undersigned SOUTH PACIFIC COMPANY, a Delaware <br />corporation, hereby respectfully applies under Section 7555 <br />of the Public Utilities Code for the right to maintain, replace, <br />and operate for fifty years railroad tracks in the City of <br />Santa Ana heretofore constructed, maintained, and operated <br />under City of Santa Ana Ordinance No. 439 in favor of J. M. <br />Griffith Company whose rights thereto have been assigned to <br />applicant Southern Pacific Company. <br />Said railroad tracks are used for the transportation <br />of property by rail from and to the area lying within the City <br />of Santa Ana and elsewhere in the State of California and in <br />interstate commerce, and are integral parts of the railroad <br />transportation system of the Southern Pacific Company which <br />is subject to the jurisdiction of the Interstate Commerce <br />Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission. <br />Said railroad tracks are standard gauge railroad tracks as now <br />constructed at grade in the City of Santa Ana, County of <br />Orange, the center line of said tracks being described as <br />follows: <br />Beginning at a point in the northerly line of Fburth <br />Street, X30 feet wide, distant westerly thereon 234 feet, <br />more or less from its intersection with the northerly <br />prolongation of the westerly line of Breeden Street; <br />thence southerly 80 feet to a point in the southerly <br />line of said Fourth Street distant westerly thereon 234 <br />feet, more or less, from its intersection with the <br />westerly line of said Breeden Street; thence continuing <br />southerly across private property to a point in the <br />northerly line of Third Street, 60 feet wide, distant <br />westerly thereon 234 feet, more or less, from its <br />intersection with the westerly line of said Breeden <br />Street; thence southerly 60 feet to a point in the <br />southerly line of said Third Street distant westerly <br />thereon 234 feet, more or less, from its intersection <br />with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line <br />of said Breeden Street. <br />-1- <br />
