<br />The Southern Counties Gas Company has received, throu�-,h.
<br />W. P. Heathman, Esq., City Attorney, notice to appear before
<br />your honorable Board at 7:30 P. 1d. ors the 17th da,V, of June, 1:%12,

<br />The Company, throueh its President and General naE;,er
<br />is now before you in response to that notice. Section 11j, Article
<br />XI, o2 the state constitution, a., orininally enacted, provided
<br />follows:
<br />"In any city where there: are no public works
<br />oared and control, led by the munici alit,; -, for ,•ap,_l;yizi

<br />or any co..ipany duly incorporated for ::uch pur po�-e udder
<br />and by authority of the lags of this state, shall, under

<br />In 1885 this section was amended to read as follow2:
