7/17/2007 <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES AGENCY <br />PARK/FACILITY/FIELD MODIFICATION PROCESS <br />The purpose of this process is to ensure that any modifications proposed on City parks, facilities or fields by <br />groups or individuals meet the City's building code requirements, safety and quality standards, and be uniform <br />in design with other park facilities. The intent of the proposed modification must take into consideration the <br />impact to the surrounding neighborhood and must meet the City's overall objective of providing quality public <br />park services and facilities to the residents of Santa Ana. <br />The followiniz information and/or process shall apply to any park, facility or field modification proposed by the <br />City, organizational group(s) and/or individual(s): <br />Modifications shall apply to any proposed installation or removal of capital improvements on any City- <br />owned park, facility or field, such as: <br />• Sports facilities <br />o ball fields, soccer fields, sports courts, etc. <br />o sports lighting <br />o dugouts <br />o batting cages <br />o bleachers <br />o scoreboards <br />o concession stands <br />o press/score boxes <br />• Play areas <br />o playground equipment <br />o playground surfaces <br />• Passive areas <br />• Park furniture and signage <br />o park and regulation signage <br />o picnic tables, park benches, barbeque braziers, trash receptacles, drinking fountains <br />• Park landscaping and irrigation systems <br />2. The process shall also include any offer to provide volunteer assistance and or request for improvements <br />in the area of maintenance and/or landscaping to any City-owned park, facility or field, such as: <br />• Planting or removal of trees, shrubs, ground cover, vines, and flowers <br />• Maintenance of park landscaping such as: <br />o edging / trimming <br />o mowing <br />o sodding <br />o sprigging <br />o top dressing <br />o weed abatement <br />o trash/clean-up <br />8-41
