Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> / FILE NUMBER <br /> CI NAGER <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br /> Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Automated <br /> Vending Technologies, Inc. (AVT) to provide healthy beverage and/or snack vending services at <br /> City-owned properties for a one-year term, with the option of extending the agreement for five <br /> additional one-year terms, subject to non-substantive changes. <br /> <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> Currently, Automatic Vending Technologies, Inc provides vending services at the Community <br /> Centers, Library and the Regional Transportation Center and Downey Vendors Inc. dba Premier <br /> Vend Group provides vending services at City Hall, City Yard (Fleet) and the Police Facility. The <br /> existing vending services expires on June 30, 2013 and the various agencies agreed to <br /> consolidate the service into one contract. A Request for Proposal to provide 22 healthy <br /> beverage and/or snack vending machines at various City-owned properties was issued on April <br /> 11, 2013. The Request for Proposal was distributed to eight beverage and snack vending <br /> operators. A pre-proposal conference was conducted on April 29, 2013 and responses were <br /> received from three vendors who submitted proposals for consideration. AVT, Inc., Premier <br /> Vend Group, Inc. and Elite Division Group, LLC each submitted proposals for review. <br /> A six member evaluation committee consisting of representatives from Police, Public Works, <br /> Clerk of the Council, Finance, and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency met on <br /> May 29, 2013 and rated the three proposals.
