Water plants to a depth of 5 inches immediately <br />after planting for 4" plants material (deeper for larger pots). <br />b. Plants are to be rotated three times a year and must be kept <br />disease free and healthy on a consistent basis. There shall <br />be no dead or missing plants at any time and the beds must <br />be kept in a weed free condition. Plants must be 4" pot size <br />and will be planted in an 8" triangular spacing pattern. Rows <br />must be in a straight alignment at the time of planting. Plant <br />species that may be planted at different times of the year may <br />include, but not be limited to the following annual bedding <br />plants as approved by the Projects Manager or designee: <br />Spring/Summer - Alyssum, Lobelia, Salvia, Marigold, <br />Gloriosa daisy, Penstemon, Cosmos, Dahlia, Impatiens, <br />Begonias, Double Impatiens, Petunia, Verbena, Vinca <br />rosea (periwinkle), Zinnias. <br />Fall/Winter - Iceland poppies, Pansies, Viola, Stock, <br />Snapdragons, Primroses, Ranunculus <br />Vandalism: Contractor shall replant/replace <br />missing/damaged plants within 48 hours as part of routine <br />maintenance. The Projects Manager or designee shall be the <br />sole judge of whether above specifications are met. The <br />Projects Manager or designee shall also approve the types <br />and combination of color bedding plants prior to installation. <br />2) All Turf at the SARTC shall be considered priority turf, for turf care <br />purposes. <br />3) All hardscape areas shall be kept free of weeds at all times. <br />Weeds shall be removed by hand and/or approved mechanical or <br />chemical methods. The Contractor shall inspect four times a week <br />all landscaped areas (turf, trees, ground cover, and annual color) <br />for presence of disease, insect, rodent infestation or any other <br />pests. If any pests, such as but not limited to, disease, insect, <br />algae, birds, animals, such as rabbits, squirrels, or rodent <br />infestation (rodents including rats, gophers, moles, voles, etc.) is <br />discovered, it shall immediately be controlled by the Contractor at <br />his/her expense using the safest and most expedient method. <br />H. GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND CLEAN-UP <br />a. The Contractor shall collect all clippings, trimmings, <br />cuttings, rubbish and debris, and posted signs at all work <br />sites and dispose of same in a lawful manner per contract <br />requirements at the Contractor's expense. <br />25E-42
