Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED <br />TO <br />FILE <br />NUMBER <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to continue to provide additional partially-paid <br />temporary military leave of absence and dependent benefits for City employees called to active <br />duty with the armed forces. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On October 1, 2001, the Santa Ana City Council adopted Resolution No. 2001-065, providing for <br />additional partially-paid temporary military leave of absence for full-time officers or employees of <br />the City called to active military service with the Armed Forces of the United States in connection <br />with the then-current military crisis, and for continuation of dependent benefits. That Resolution <br />also provided that its terms would expire unless extended by further action of the City Council. <br />The City Council has subsequently adopted resolutions extending th <br />Resolution No. 2001-065. By adopting the subject Resolution, the City <br />termination date to June 30, 2014, and continue to assist City employees <br />financial hardships resulting from active duty service in connection with <br />military commitment. <br />e termination date of <br />Council will extend the <br />and their families with <br />the continuing current <br />55B-1
