• Congratulated Orange County High School of the Arts students on <br />great end of year performance at Segerstrom Performing Arts Center. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Attended Memorial Day event at Fairhaven Cemetery; congratulated <br />all for nice event; <br />• Attended Youth Budget Forum that was well attended; <br />• Congratulated all high school graduates and wished them well; <br />• Happy Father's Day to all; and <br />• Encouraged all to shop in Santa Ana. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Invited all to attend the Fourth of July Fireworks Show on Sunday, <br />June 30th at Centennial Park; <br />• Asked that all support our local businesses and shop in town. <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Commented on recent park opening sponsored by Latino Health <br />Access; <br />• Related California, celebrated the grand opening of Triada Court, <br />Triada Gardens and Triada Village, which together form a new <br />community of affordable apartment homes in the Lacy Neighborhood <br />of the Santa Ana Station District; <br />• Thanked colleagues and staff for another successful Health and <br />Fitness Event held on Saturday, June 1St; <br />• Commented on extensive number of public meetings held on the City <br />budget; noted that 80% of budget was salaries and benefits; <br />community requesting additional programs; <br />• Wished all a Happy Father's Day. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento: <br />• Thanked City Manager and staff for budget presentations; <br />• Commented that Vector Control's special presentation rescheduled; <br />request press release on recent West Nile virus incident; <br />• Recently attended Chamber of Commerce meeting; request more <br />participation in ambassador program and networking; <br />• Requested update from staff on accountability efforts; <br />• Reported that Development and Land Use Council Committee holding <br />meeting on Tuesday, June 4th; <br />• Wished all graduates well in their endeavors; and <br />• Happy Father's Day to all. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Tinajero: <br />• Commented on recent changes to baseball field assignment process <br />that will allow for more equity; and pony league and travel ball team <br />successes-land <br />• Wished all a Happy Father's Day. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 17 JUNE 3, 2013
