Neighbors, Families and Friends; Santa Ana Police Officer's Association; AT&T; C&C <br />Development; Waste Management; Santa Ana Republican Women Federated; and TNT <br />Fireworks for their generous donation and to the Santa Ana Independence Day <br />Celebration Committee for donating their time and efforts to making event a great <br />success. <br />AGENDA ITEM TAKEN OUT OF ORDER <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS <br />Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter Section 411, any member of the City Council may place <br />items on the City Council Agenda to be considered by the City Council. <br />85A PUBLIC ART ON UTILITY BOXES (MAYOR PULIDO, BENAVIDES AND <br />REYNA) <br />• James Kendricks, spoke in support of public arts on utility boxes. <br />• Diane Ashbaugh, presented video depicting samples of public art in <br />other cities. <br />Mayor Pulido created an ad hoc committee comprised of self, <br />Councilmembers Reyna and Benavides to further review concept. <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT - City Attorney Carvalho reported that the City Council <br />will be adjourning meeting to July 18, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. to continue discussion on <br />Closed Session Item; also reported actions considered and included as Agenda Item <br />19A. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />• Steve Rocco, commented on upcoming restraining order hearing and other related <br />matters. <br />• Samuel Romero, requested to be included in discussion of arts in downtown; <br />reported on increased in vandalism, need for police patrol; proposed police <br />assessment fee to help address matters. <br />• Alex Vega, spoke on disagreement with allocation of baseball fields. <br />• Barbara Lamere, commented on increased use of illegal fireworks on the 4m of JUIy; <br />requested that open space area at Centennial Park be recovered from Santa Ana <br />College. <br />• Jason Wildman, spoke of misdemeanor cases filed against homeless. <br />• Jesus Nieto, addressed the City Council on baseball related issues. <br />o Mayor Pro Tern Tinajero indicated that the Parks, Recreation, Education and <br />Youth (PREY) Council Committee will consider matter on July 29, 2013 at 5:30 <br />p.m. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 4 JULY 15, 2013 <br />1 0C-4
