The Authority's staff also provided counseling to <br /> <br /> new/prospective tenants on the importance of building good credit history. Credit counseling <br /> was provided by the Consumer Credit Counseling Center, a local nonprofit agency. <br /> • While the City's Redevelopment Agency no longer exists, the City (via the Agency's successor) <br /> has been allowed to follow projects with enforceable agreements in place, to be completed. <br /> Phase 1 of the City's Station District was completed during the repor ad. Twenty-three <br /> newly constructed affordable rental housing are restricted to hous cxtremely Low- <br /> income, and 87 are restricted to Very Low-income households. loortunities <br /> <br /> will also be created by Habitat for Humanity of Orange Co 17 new <br /> homes on scattered sites. The latter accomplishments wi s the <br /> units come to fruition. <br /> <br /> 4. ACTIONS TO OVERCOME GAPS IN INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTUP' <br /> The City worked closely with local institutions * -onomic incentives <br /> with neighborhood and community devel ,rts included building <br /> relationships with neighborhood associat% _ agencies, nonprofits, and <br /> educational institutions. The City a' r at enhancing coordination <br /> <br /> among various City departments. <br /> <br /> Examples of actions and ,od to overcome gaps and enhance <br /> coordination included t <br /> • The City's Workf, ` sory board played a key role in developing <br /> employment r nta Ana residents. Through this participation <br /> the City can ens barriers created by regional institutional structures that address the needs <br /> of the homeless and individuals with HIV/AIDS are identified and addressed through the <br /> coordinated use of limited funds. <br /> • The City sought to encourage home ownership opportunities to promote neighborhood <br /> <br /> stability.
