<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Iss8/12/13 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2013-XXX <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br /> THE CHIEF OF POLICE OR THEIR DESIGNEE(S) TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF <br /> CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY <br /> SERVICES FOR THE FY2013 URBAN AREA SECURITY <br /> INITIATIVE FUNDING PROGRAM <br /> <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br /> and declares as follows: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> A. The United States Department of Homeland Security has developed the <br /> Urban Areas Security Initiative funding program (UASI). UASI provides <br /> funds to local emergency first responders to purchase equipment, <br /> planning, training, exercises and technical assistance to enhance security <br /> and preparedness to prevent, respond to, and recover from acts of <br /> terrorism. <br /> <br /> B. In FY 2006 the United States Department of Homeland Security combined <br /> the Anaheim and Santa Ana Urban Areas into a single Urban Area, and <br /> provided for shared administrative responsibilities between Santa Ana and <br /> Anaheim. In FY 2013 the City of Santa Ana is the lead administrative <br /> agency for UASI funding. <br /> <br /> C. The City of Santa Ana has been awarded funding from the California <br /> Governor's Office of Emergency Services for the fiscal year 2013 UASI in <br /> the amount of $2,715,000. <br /> <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br /> directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police or their designee(s) to enter into an <br /> agreement with the State of California Governor's Office of Emergency Services for the <br /> FY 2013 Urban Areas Security Initiative funding program in the amount of $2,715,000. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 55A-3 Resolution No. 2013-XXX <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
