REYNA <br />STAFF Present: <br />KEVIN O'ROURKE, Interim City Manager <br />JOSE SANDOVAL, Chief Assistant City <br />Attorney <br />MARIA D. HUIZAR, Clerk of the Council <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />• Sergio Verino, President of SEIU, is representing 400 City employees, urged City <br />Council to accept labor proposal as presented. <br />• Javad Sabokpey, representing SEW Local 721, noted sacrifice of bargaining group <br />members; urged City Council to restore benefits and keep up with inflation. <br />• Ann Ni, presented State Income Limits for 2013 as prepared by the State of <br />California, Department of Housing and Community Development; request full <br />restoration of pre-October 2010 and cost of living increase <br />• Kim McPeck, spoke of hardship furloughs and increased PERS contribution have <br />had on SEIU members; stated that no raises given in past 6 years; advocated to <br />make members whole. <br />• John Colclough, opined that union members have contributed to a better Santa Ana; <br />asked that benefits be restored. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 1 AUGUST 5, 2013
