Orange County Conservation Corps <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board - The Youth Service Provider Network <br />Request for Proposal <br />PY 201312014 <br />Orange County Conservation Corps staff members will meet daily with WIA Corps <br />Members to deliver program components. Corps Members will be assigned to work in a <br />crew which is supervised by one of the Corps' Crew Supervisors. The Crew Supervisor will <br />work Monday -Thursday with WIA Corps Members to complete assigned work projects. <br />Other Corps staff or interns meet with WIA Corps Members as needed for specialized <br />trainings, workshops, or individualized follow up regarding work/school/personal issues <br />that may arise. <br />C. What type of services or support will be made available to youth facing <br />challenging life obstacles such as: family dysfunctions, mental health <br />issues, substance abuse, low self-esteem, etc. <br />WIA Corps Members will be provided with supportive services such as referrals for legal, <br />medical, substance abuse, health, housing, family/personal guidance and counseling; <br />assistance with tools, books, clothing, other items needed for interviews, job requirements, <br />advanced training, bus passes, and gas cards. <br />To help maintain consistent attendance at work and school, gas cards and both daily and monthly <br />bus passes are made available to Corps Members. Carpooling is also encouraged. <br />IX. Employment <br />A. What type of services/resources will be provided to help youth attain <br />employment? What is the program plan to ensure that you attain <br />employment? <br />Employment services will be provided through the Corps -2 -Career class which is <br />designed to lead to occupations in high growth/high demand industries. WIA Corps <br />Members will also have access to a full time Placement Specialist who will assist with the <br />placement of WIA Corps Members after their work experience is completed. It is the <br />intent of the Orange County Conservation Corps to assist <br />B. What employers do you have partnerships with that will hire youth? <br />The Orange County Conservation Corps has established partnerships with the following <br />employers who are dedicated to hiring our youth: Goodwill of Orange County, Terra <br />Pacific Waste Management, Mesa Cold Storage, Costco, Smart and Final Extra, Santa Ana <br />Public Library, Irvine Children's Dentistry. In addition, we continuously seek out new <br />partnerships and look to provide more opportunities for our participants. <br />C. What employers do you have partnerships with that will provide work <br />experience? <br />All of the employers listed above plus: Live Scan Center of Anaheim, Santa Ana Work <br />Center, Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, Mc Lure Insurance Brokerage, Santa Ana <br />Public Library, Dr. Jaclynn Do, M.D. Black Cat Gallery, Dollar Tree, Irvine Children's <br />Dentistry, Mi Pueblo Real Estate. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
