Comment: Can the joint public hearing notice be published in a non - English <br />newspaper? <br />Response: As suggested by the Commission, the joint public hearing notice will be <br />translated into Spanish and Vietnamese. Based upon a conversation with the City <br />Clerk's office, the Spanish and Vietnamese - speaking newspaper with the greatest <br />outreach to individuals in Santa Ana will be used. Agency staff will coordinate publishing <br />of the joint public hearing notice in the newspapers. <br />4. Comment: Regarding Agency accomplishments listed on pages 10 -11 of this Report, <br />what housing projects have been completed using the 20 percent housing set -aside <br />funds within the Project Areas? <br />Response: The list of accomplishments discussed in Section I D. provides an overview <br />of some of the accomplishments that have occurred over the past 30 years. This list is <br />not all inclusive of every project or program completed by the Agency. The following is a <br />list of additional Agency assisted residential projects and activities anticipated for <br />completion in the near future: <br />Accomplishments <br />• 518 -unit Cornerstone Village Project — This project was awarded the NAHRO <br />National Award of Merit. <br />• Affordable housing projects. <br />• Fund Replacement Coach /Manufactured Housing Unit program. <br />• Received NAHRO Award of Merit for the Emmanuel House Project. <br />• Funded the 21 -unit Casa Alegre HOPWA project in Anaheim. <br />• Facilitated the development of two low and moderate income housing projects <br />(Borchard Street and Bush Street) to meet replacement housing obligations. <br />Proposed Activities <br />• Support the Santiago Villas Project, which includes: acquisition, rehabilitation, <br />and conversion of a motel to 83 senior residential housing units. <br />• Initiate the "Paint It Now" program to paint 100 affordable homes within a specific <br />target area. <br />• Complete construction of the San Miguel residence, which is a Mercy Housing <br />expansion project. <br />• Construct the Birch Street Project that includes four single family homes in the <br />Heninger Park neighborhood. <br />• Issue a Request for Proposal for the construction of seven units with unique <br />historic sensitivity at McFadden /Orange. <br />Page 54 of 190 <br />Report to the City Council for the Merger of the <br />Santa Ana Redevelopment Projects <br />PA0403012.8NTA:CK:gbd <br />19090.003.004/06 /20/04 <br />Keyser Marston Associates, Inc. <br />Page 43 <br />N <br />a.7 <br />
