Periodically, staff requires the <br />assistance of professional licensed appraisers. These appraisers may be <br />asked to determine the fair market value or fair reuse value of <br />properties that might become involved in litigation and /or eminent <br />domain. In such instances, appraisers must have credentials that certify <br />them to appear in court and defend the accuracy of the work performed if <br />necessary. Their ability to do so successfully can have a major impact <br />on the Agency's ability to move critical projects forward. <br />Lidgard and Associates, which specializes in litigation - related <br />appraisals, is a professional appraisal firm with whom Agency staff has <br />worked successfully in the past. The firm has been in operation for six <br />years, with senior staff having over 20 years experience in appraising <br />all types of real estate in the greater Southern California region. <br />The Agency currently has a $50,000 consulting services contract with <br />Lidgard and Associates and requires additional services. The requested <br />amendment will increase the contract to an amount not to exceed $100,000. <br />137 8 <br />
