Contract Award for Demolition <br />of 622 -624 N. Garfield and <br />626 -628 N. Garfield <br />June 7, 2004 <br />Page 2 <br />uninhabitable as several structural systems are substantially <br />deteriorated. <br />A public notice requesting bids for the demolition of these units was <br />published in the Orange County Register and advertised online via The <br />Blue Book of Building and Construction. Ten bid packages were issued to <br />interested parties. A total of six bid packages were returned. Of <br />those, one bid package was not complete and was deemed unresponsive. A <br />summary of the responsive bids received is as follows: <br />Vision Environmental Services (Fullerton) $35,176 <br />J & G Industries, Inc. (Fountain Valley) $70,460 <br />Southwest Industries (Rancho Cucamonga) $72,293 <br />Lange America, Inc. (La Mirada) $83,000 <br />Horizons CCI Services (Anaheim) $99,875 <br />The bid received from Vision Environmental, Inc. was the lowest <br />responsive bid. The project budget (Exhibit 2) in the amount of <br />$40,452.40 will ensure adequate funding in order to demolish the units, <br />provide for necessary site work and fund any necessary contingencies. <br />CEQA COMPLIANCE <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the proposed <br />projects are exempt from further review. Categorical Exemption Nos. ER- <br />126 and ER -128 will be filed for these projects. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the demolition are available in the Low and Moderate Housing <br />Set -Aside account (account no. 505 - 936 -6291, work order nos. 61072 and <br />61394) . <br />John P.
