Objectives will result in the elimination of some of the blighting conditions in the Merged Project <br />Area and further the attainment of the redevelopment goals. The means for achieving the Goals <br />and Objectives of the Implementation Plan are the programs, the specific projects implemented <br />by the programs and expenditures to be undertaken by the Agency over the five -year term. By <br />implementing these programs, projects and expenditures, the Agency will realize the blight <br />elimination effects of the goals and objectives. In general, the goals and objectives for the <br />Merged Project Area Include, but are "not limited to: <br />1. Eliminate physical blight. <br />2. Create new employment opportunities. <br />3. Encourage uniform and consistent land use patterns. <br />4. Encourage private commercial /industrial <br />investment. <br />5. Implement the City's General Plan. <br />6. Encourage highest and best use <br />7. Provide or replace publi r <br />signals, lighting sys s, and <br />8. AGENCY ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />The Agency has been actively involved in community redevelopment since the adoption of the <br />Central City Redevelopment Project Area in 1973. The project was adopted in response to <br />deteriorating conditions in the downtown.
