RESOLUTION NO. CRA 2006 -xxx <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO PAY THE COST <br />OF CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLICLY OWNED IMPROVEMENT, <br />A PARKING LOT LOCATED AT 2129 NORTH MAIN STREET, <br />PURSUANT TO SECTION 33445 OF THE HEALTH & SAFETY <br />CODE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The Board of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A, The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Agency ") is engaged in activities necessary <br />to execute and implement the Redevelopment Plan for the Merged Project <br />Area (the Redevelopment Plan "), in the area formerly known as the <br />Central City Project Area. <br />B. Section I, Paragraph B of the Central City Redevelopment Plan, as <br />amended, states that the "provision of substantial offstreet parking" in the <br />project area is necessary to implement the objectives of the Plan. <br />Section III, Paragraph G.2. of said Plan further provides that the Agency is <br />authorized to construct public improvements and public facilities necessary <br />to carry out the Plan. <br />C. The most recent Five Year Implementation Plan of the Agency <br />further provides that one of the prospective projects of the Agency for the <br />period of July 2005 to June 2010 is: "Expansion of the Bowers Museum." <br />D. Section 33445 of the Health & Safety Code, part of the California <br />Redevelopment Law, provides that the Agency may pay for the cost of <br />construction of a public improvement, upon the consent of the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana, if the following findings can be made: <br />1. That the public improvement is of benefit to the project area <br />or the immediate neighborhood in which the project is located; <br />1 <br />3.A. - 5 <br />
