REQUEST FOR
AGENCY ACTION
AGENCY BOARD MEETING DATE:
AUGUST 21, 2006
TITLE:
AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH
CLARK & GREEN ASSOCIATES FOR
LANDSCAPE DESIGN SERVICES
I1 411
EXECUTIVE bIRECTOR
RECOMMENDED ACTION
AGENCY SECRETARY USE ONLY:
rr)omr%n 67aicA
znld : Alva ✓ez-
APPROVED G -'D Ch ✓ 15 IY nbSei-t
® As Recommended
❑ As Amended
❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading
❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading
❑ Implementing Resolution
❑ Set Public Hearing For
CONTINUED TO
FILE NUMBER
Direct the Agency General Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive
Director to execute an amendment to the agreement with Clark & Green
Associates for landscape architectural design services for an additional
amount of $25,000 for a total contract amount of $75,000.
DISCUSSION
In August 2002, the Agency entered into an agreement with Clark & Green
Associates to assist with developing a landscape design concept for the
Auto Mall frontage and entries. In May 2004, the Agency amended the
contract with Clark & Green to continue our efforts at the Santa Ana Auto
Mall and adjacent Edinger Avenue frontages. In addition to the frontage
and entries, it has become necessary to evaluate the mall's interior
common area landscaping in conjunction with the existing dealers. This
will result in a more cohesive approach to upgrading the appearance of
the mall.
It is recommended that the Agency amend the agreement with Clark & Green
Associates to allow additional work to be performed for the Auto Mall and
for other Agency projects, should the need arise. The scope of services
has been expanded to include preparation of specifications, provide
project review and limited construction monitoring and architectural
review. Clark & Green, represented by Mike Green, is a highly
experienced landscape architecture firm. Mr. Green was directly involved
in the initial landscape design and development of the Santa Ana Auto
Mall.
4 -1
