REQUEST FOR <br />AGENCY ACTION <br />AGENCY BOARD MEETING DATE: <br />NOVEMBER 20, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT WITH CONVERSE <br />CONSULTANTS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL <br />SERVICES <br />EXECU ,74VE DIRECTOR <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />AGENCY SECRETARY USE ONLY: <br />/'/')''irali,' 6(st" <br />-21✓d . t7l ✓"e z- <br />APPROVED <br />As Recommended 76 <br />As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 15' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the Agency General Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive <br />Director to execute a consultant services agreement with Converse <br />Consultants in an amount not to exceed $75,000 with the contract to <br />terminate upon the expenditure of all funds. <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommended that the Community Redevelopment Agency direct the Agency <br />General Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive Director to <br />execute a consultant services agreement with Converse Consultants in an <br />amount not to exceed $75,000 with the contract to terminate upon the <br />expenditure of all funds. <br />By a vote of 4:0 (Jauregui, Turner, Yanez absent) at its Regular Meeting <br />of November 7, 2006. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Agency currently has thirteen vacant sites suitable for residential <br />development for which it is soliciting developer proposals. As part of <br />its solicitation, the Agency has committed to providing current Phase I <br />environmental assessments for each site. In addition, when the Agency is <br />acquiring property as part of its due diligence, it conducts Phase I <br />assessments. <br />In order to meet this need, Agency staff solicited proposals for Phase I <br />assessments from three qualified firms. Based on the quality and <br />responsiveness of the proposals, staff discussions with the three firms, <br />4 -1 <br />
