8/22/07 les <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 00/0 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE <br />PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION LOCATED AT 1126 AND <br />1146 WASHINGTON AVENUE, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA; AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE <br />DOCUMENTS AS NECESSARY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The Board of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City <br />of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Agency ") desires to purchase the property <br />located at 1126 and 1146 Washington Avenue (DD073034- 01 -01) (the <br />"Property ") from the State of California Department of Transportation <br />( "CalTrans "). The Property is considered surplus government land. <br />B. CalTrans requires that the governing body of the Agency must <br />provide a resolution that states that the Property will be used for specific <br />public purposes. "Public purposes" means the preponderant area of the <br />Property shall be substantially for governmental use, as opposed to <br />proprietary functions. <br />C. The Agency plans to use the Property in conformity with Government <br />Code sections 54220 through 54227, as required, for a transit oriented <br />development with an affordable housing component. <br />Section 2. The Executive Director of the Agency or his /her designee <br />( "Executive Director ") is hereby authorized, on behalf of the Agency, to execute <br />such documents that are to be signed by the Agency in connection with the <br />purchase of the Property, with such non - substantive changes as may be approved <br />by the Agency General Counsel. <br />Section 3. The Executive Director is hereby authorized, on behalf of the <br />Agency, to sign all documents necessary and appropriate to carry out and <br />implement the purchase and to administer the Agency's obligations, <br />responsibilities and duties to be performed. <br />4 -5 <br />
