RESOLUTION NO. CRA 2008 - 00 6` P <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING AUTHORITY OF THE <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE <br />CONTRACTS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />$25,000 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The Board of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Agency ") is engaged in activities necessary <br />to execute and implement the Redevelopment Plan for the Merged <br />Redevelopment Project Area. <br />B. In order to implement the Redevelopment Plan and pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 86 -57 dated November 18, 1986, the Agency granted its <br />Executive Director the authority to execute agreements in an amount not to <br />exceed $10,000. This was the same authority the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana granted its City Manager. <br />C. In November of 2006, the residents of the City of Santa Ana voted to <br />amend section 421 of the City's Charter to increase the City Manager's <br />authority to execute agreements, and further provided that the City Manager <br />must submit quarterly reports to the City Council at a public meeting <br />reporting on all such agreements. <br />D. At this time the City Manager's authority to execute agreements has <br />been capped by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at $25,000. <br />E. It is appropriate for the Board of Directors of the Agency to grant the <br />Agency's Executive Director similar authority, also subject to the limitation <br />that the Executive Director submit quarterly reports to the Board of Directors <br />at a public meeting reporting on all such agreements. <br />3 -3 <br />
