Section R403.1.3 is amended to read as follows: <br />In Seismic Design Categories D0, D1 and D2 masonry stem walls without <br />solid grout and vertical reinforcing are not permitted. <br />Exception: In detached one- and two - family dwellings which are three <br />stories or less in height and constructed with stud bearing walls, isolated <br />plain concrete footings supporting columns or pedestals are permitted. <br />SECTION 38: That section 8 -2812 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />such that it reads as follows: <br />Sec. 8 -2812. Definitions (Section 202). <br />Section 202 Definitions is hereby revised by adding "Hazardous Fire Area" as follows: <br />HAZARDOUS FIRE AREA. Includes all areas identified within California Fire <br />Code Section 4906.2 and other areas as determined by the Fire Code Official as <br />presenting a fire hazard due to the presence of combustible vegetation, or the proximity <br />of the property to an area that contains combustible vegetation. <br />SECTION 39: That section 8 -2813 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />such that it reads as follows: <br />Sec. 8 -2813. Building Planning (Chapter 3). <br />(a) Section R309.6 Fire sprinkler attached garages, and carports with habitable <br />space above is hereby amended by modifying the exception as follows: <br />Exception: An automatic residential fire sprinkler system shall not be required <br />when additions or alterations are made to existing carports and /or garages that <br />do not have an automatic fire sprinkler system installed unless a sprinkler system <br />is required in accordance with California Fire Code Section 903.2.8. <br />(b) Section R313.1 Townhouse automatic fire sprinkler systems is hereby amended <br />by modifying the exception as follows: <br />Exception: An automatic residential fire sprinkler system shall not be required <br />when additions or alterations are made to existing townhouses that do not have <br />an automatic fire sprinkler system installed unless a sprinkler system is required <br />in accordance with California Fire Code Section 903.2.8. <br />(c) Section R313.2 One- and two - family dwellings automatic fire sprinkler systems <br />is hereby amended by modifying the exception as follows: <br />Ordinance No. NS -XXXX <br />11 A-31 Page 29 of 67 <br />
