ATTACHMENT A 2013 -DJ -BX -1065 <br />Goals of the project: <br />The goal of this project is to provide a safe and sensible location platform to be used by all emergency <br />response persomiel in the police department. <br />Strategies to be used for project: <br />The strategies employed will be to add additional software to all Mobile Digital Computers (70) in the <br />police department. We will also need to equip our dispatch center with a monitor so the officers, <br />locations can be ascertained instantaneously and crime fighting techniques deployed. This technology <br />will greatly improve our abilities as a police department to be better equipped when responding to crimes, <br />whether they involve citizens or officers. We can intuitively deduce that some injuries up to and <br />including deaths, will be reduced and possibly eliminated. <br />Project identifiers: <br />GPS Trackers <br />Budget and Budget Narrative: Outline how JAG funds will be used to support and implement die <br />program, Include a breakdown of costs <br />We will use the 2013 JAG funds to purchase GPS tracker software and install them in police patrol <br />vehicles, Our dispatchers will be able to better assign appropriate police officers based on their location <br />at the time the call comes in. <br />Cost of the GPS software purchase is approximately $40,000. We plan to fund $28,448 using this 2013 <br />JAG funds to purchase GPS tracker software. The overage of $11,554 will be funded by our general <br />fund. <br />Timeline and /or proi ect plan: Identify when the goals and objectives will be completed <br />Upon receipt of grant funds, installation of the software begins. This software is largely ready to be <br />installed and activated.
