NO. 13 -062) <br />CITY MANAGIER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />•:• % <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1"Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2n °Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Workplace Solutions, LLC for the purchase of cubicle workstations and <br />associated office furniture in an amount not to exceed $35,000 subject to non - substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Water Engineering and Administration section provides budgeting, planning <br />engineering, administration and various support services for the water and sewer enterprises and is <br />staffed by professional engineers, office assistants and part-time student interns. This section acts <br />as the central hub for all water and sewer support operations and is the central location for managing <br />the enterprise's operations technology. <br />The water engineering and administration section of the water resources division is located at the <br />City's Corporate Yard facility and occupy a room which has six cubicle work stations. These <br />workstations were installed when the Corporate Yard Facility first opened in 1994. The existing <br />workstations and layout have become outmoded as a result of the section's adoption of new <br />technologies and staff. The new proposed workstations and configuration will enhance the section's <br />resources including staff, technologies and office support equipment (e.g., large size plotters & plan <br />scanner). The proposed new workstations will better utilize the space and maximize the usability of <br />the room, thus creating a more efficient work environment. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 1, 2013, and bids were solicited. A summary of <br />the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />4 Invitations For Bid emailed <br />2 Bids received <br />Bids were received, opened on November 18, 2013, and evaluated.
