REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 16, 2013 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENTS WITH <br />RUEVAC PROPERTY SERVICES, INC., FOR <br />POWER WASHING AND SWEEPING <br />SERVICES <br />CITY MANKGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ <br />As Recommended <br />❑ <br />As Amended <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ <br />Implementing Resolution <br />❑ <br />Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to extend the power washing and power <br />sweeping agreements with RueVac Property Services, Inc., in a total amount not to exceed <br />$36,444, for a period of up to 12 months, on a month -to -month basis, subject to nonsubstantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />The recommended action will allow the power washing and power sweeping to continue at the <br />Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center while staff completes the Request for Proposals <br />process leading to a contract award for City Council consideration. <br />On January 4, 2011, the City Council approved maintenance service agreements with RueVac <br />Property Services, Inc. (RueVac), to provide power washing and power sweeping at the Santa <br />Ana Regional Transportation Center. The service agreements provide for all labor, materials, <br />equipment, and transportation necessary for keeping all areas of the two parking lots, courtyard, <br />paths of entry, bus parking stalls, driveways, and the parking structure clean and well swept. Two <br />separate agreements are in place: one for power sweeping and a second for power washing. <br />Both agreements are set to expire on December 31, 2013. <br />Staff is requesting City Council approval to extend the existing agreements with RueVac on a <br />month -to -month basis for up to 12 months, for the purpose of completing a Request for Proposals <br />(RFP) process involving solicitation of proposals for the required services from qualified service <br />providers. Staff will return to the City Council with a recommended contract award once the RFP <br />evaluation and selection process has been completed. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />25D -1 <br />
