Iss1 /10/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO.2014- <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE <br />APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS THROUGH <br />THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION WATERSMART <br />WATER AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANT <br />PROGRAM UNDER THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND THE SECURE <br />WATER ACT OF 2011 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The Bureau of Reclamation has been delegated responsibility by <br />the United States Department of the Interior for the administration <br />of the WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grant Program, <br />setting up necessary procedures governing the Application; and <br />B. Said procedures established by the Bureau of Reclamation <br />require the applicant to certify by resolution its approval of <br />application(s) prior to submission of said application(s) to the <br />Bureau of Reclamation; and <br />C. If selected, the City will enter into a contract with the Bureau of <br />Reclamation to complete the grant scope project. <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the filing of an application for $300,000 <br />in federal funds from the United States Department of the Interior's WaterSMART <br />Program under the SECURE Water Act as established in 2011 for the purchase <br />of water leak detection equipment. <br />Section 3 The City Council certifies that the City has or will have available, <br />prior to commencement of any work on the project included in this application, <br />sufficient funds to complete the project. <br />Resolution No. EXHIBIT 1 <br />Page 1 of 3 55A -3 <br />
