"I think that's because they are trying to use the Bristol Street <br />widening to lead to a redevelopment on the City of Santa Ana." <br />Response <br />The widening of Bristol Street is a major goal of the Bristol Corridor <br />Redevelopment Project Area. However, it is not the only goal of the <br />project area. <br />B. Written Comments Received <br />Comments by: Daniel Felde <br />1. "Can a sound attenuation wall be installed prior to the widening <br />of Bristol Street, along the edge of my condo complex <br />(Shadowood, at 615 North Bristol Street)? The noise from the <br />traffic and boom boxes is rather disquieting for our bedroom." ` <br />Response <br />The complex currently has a perimeter wall that would be removed in <br />conjunction with two of the Bristol Street widening alternatives. A new <br />perimeter wall will be constructed as quickly as is feasible to replace it, <br />if it is removed. Construction of the new wall, as a 6' noise _barrier, .. <br />would reduce the noise levels behind the wall, but any gaps to allow <br />access would reduce its effectiveness to the extent that the minimum <br />Caltrans effectiveness criteria could not be met. Consequently, Caltrans <br />may not elect to install a 6' noise barrier in place of the existing <br />perimeter wall; however, the City may elect to do so at their discretion. <br />2.
