iTrainingName (24 hr) 3 Day Command Staff Strategies in Crowd Management and MFF <br />IDeployment <br />A) Description of Training <br />The delivery of this course is designed to provide Command Staff with insight and <br />understanding into the Mobile Field Force Concept and tactics, and the capabilities of their <br />trained personnel (the how, when and why of deployment). In addition, are training <br />discussions on use of resources such as Bike Units, Motors, Mounted Officers, SWAT or special <br />operations officers, and Plain Clothes personnel. This three day course includes: <br />* MFF overview, <br />* How to plan for crowd events, <br />* Management techniques, <br />* Spontaneous response to events, <br />* Dealing with the media, <br />* Use of force in crowd control including less lethal munitions as well as use of force reporting <br />protocol, <br />* Deployment strategies <br />* First Amendment Rights and application to demonstrations, <br />* Risk management issues, <br />* Unlawful assembly and dispersal. <br />In addition, the course covers several in depth tactical debriefs of actual events and lessons <br />learned illustrating in real world events tactics that have failed, were improperly deployed, <br />lacked proper planning, or worked well. During this three day course there are also three <br />escalating tabletop exercises to reinforce concepts learned. Class Sizes are limited to 16 <br />students who will be broken down into four planning cells of four officers each. The <br />Management Strategies for Command Staff course includes a 150 page textbook written for <br />this specific course.
