ZONING ADMINISTRATOR HEARING <br />• MINUTES <br />MARCH 9, 2011 <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2011 -04 <br />9:10 a.m. <br />Mr. Sergio Klotz, Zoning Administrator, called to order the public hearing in the City Hall <br />Ross Annex Conference Room 2001. <br />Also in attendance were: Michael Cho, David Radanovich and Frank Aguirre, <br />Applicants; Verny Carvajal, Senior Planner; Yolanda Pena and Mike McCoy, Police <br />Department; Ryan Hodge, City Attorney; and Jocelyn Magalona, Recording Secretary. <br />Verny Carvajal presented the staff report and recommendation for denial. <br />There were no written communications. <br />The applicants outlined their support and provided company and employee training <br />background along with a handout. <br />Discussion and clarification was held regarding the Public Convenience and Necessity <br />is (PC &N) letter and the above average crime rate in the area. <br />After careful consideration of police activity as well as economic and social impacts, the <br />Zoning Administrator remanded the project to the Planning Commission for review. Mr. <br />Cho stated their preference for approval by adding a condition to bring the project back <br />for review. The Police Department stated the difficulty in revoking a license once <br />issued. The Zoning Administrator explained that the land use was the consideration. <br />The Zoning Administrator remanded Conditional Use Permit No. 2011 -04 to the <br />Planning Commission as a public hearing item on March 28, 2011. <br />The hearing adjourned at 9:54 a.m. <br />Maagalona <br />ng Secretary <br />mr\zoning administration \minutes \2011 \3 -9 -11 CUP11 -04 El Super ABC.min <br />
