FOR POLICE FACILITY FIRE SYSTEM <br />MAINTENANCE AND CITY -WIDE HVAC <br />SYSTEM REPAIRS I � zl'_� / <br />CITY MANAGE <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 "d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Siemens <br />Industry, Inc. to provide Police facility fire system maintenance and City -wide HVAC system <br />repairs for a one -year period in an amount not to exceed $62,610 subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Police Department utilizes Siemens Industry, Inc. fire systems and controls <br />throughout its administration and holding facility. Siemens provides fire system maintenance, <br />which includes emergency on -site response 24 hours a day, an annual test of all fire systems by <br />certified specialists, sensitivity testing of all smoke detectors, cleaning of smoke detectors, and <br />repair and replacement of failed or worn components. The cost for this service is $32,610 <br />annually. <br />In addition, other City facilities, including City Hall, the Main Library, City Yard, El Salvador <br />Center and the Regional Transportation Center utilize Siemens for HVAC maintenance and <br />repairs. The cost for this service is estimated to be $30,000, for a total not to exceed agreement <br />amount of $62,610. The agreement includes a 30 day termination clause.
