ATTACHMENT A 2013 -DJ -BX -1065 <br />City: Anaheim <br />The City of Anaheim proposes to use the 2013 Justice Assistance Grant funding as follows: <br />Purpose Areas: <br />Law Enforcement <br />Program Narrative: <br />The Anaheim Police Department (APD) would like to use JAG funds to support the overtime expenses of <br />the Department's frontline sworn personnel in the following divisions: Operations, Operation Support, <br />Investigations, and Special Operations. The City's budget conditions for fiscal year 2013/14 have <br />decreased APD's overtime budget tremendously. In addition, in the past few years, APD has reduced our <br />sworn staff in order to meet the City's budgetary goals. Hence, responsibilities for each employee have <br />increased in order to maintain a safe community. Overtime hours have become an intricate part in <br />helping APD's personnel work efficiently and effectively. Overtime hours will be assigned to employees <br />within the four divisions at the discretion of the Department. <br />Goals of the project: <br />The Department's project goal is to improve and enhance the community's safety, while working with a <br />smaller budget, and reduced personnel. In order to accomplish this goal, overtime hours will be assigned <br />to each employee at the discretion of the Department. <br />Strategies to be used for project: <br />Overtime hours will be assigned to each employee at the discretion of the Department. A separate account <br />code will be assigned specifically for this project. All overtime documents for this project will be <br />assigned a specific account code. A copy of all overtime documents will be approved by the Department <br />prior to subxnittaL A payroll download of all overtime hours and any other required documents will be <br />included in each reimbursement submitted to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. <br />Project identifiers: <br />Overtime for sworn personnel within Anaheim Police Department's four divisions: Operations, Operation <br />Support, Investigations and Special Operations. <br />Budget and Budget Narrative: <br />Overtime for the Department's personnel will range from $30.00- $90.00 per hour depending on the <br />position and rank of each employee. Due to budget constraints, APD is currently unable to fully fund the <br />Department's overtime expenses. <br />2013 -DJ -BX -1065 Page 7 of 29 <br />
