ATTACHMENT A 2013 -DJ -BX -1065 <br />life for our residents. Enforcement related activities will be coupled with an educational component, <br />which will enhance public understanding, trust and confidence. <br />Goals of the project: <br />The goal of this project is to reduce criminal activity and increase public safety through enhanced <br />enforcement and educational efforts. <br />Strategies to be used for project: <br />The use of selective enforcement overtime, response to community complaints, coupled with crime <br />analysis data allows resources to be specifically deployed in areas of increased criminal activity during <br />time frames found to be most beneficial to project goals: <br />I . Contact gang members and individuals involved in crimes of public disorder to gain intelligence, <br />investigative information and ensure problem solving for prosecutorial purposes while striving to <br />resolve longstanding community concerns. <br />2. Increase the number of arrests and prosecution of gang members. <br />3. Increase the number of community complaints resolved. <br />4. Reduce the fear gang members evoke in the community and decrease community concerns <br />through high visibility police presence and enforcement activities. <br />S. Offer enhanced educational opportunities through schools, community associations and <br />neighborhood watch groups. <br />Proiect identifiers: <br />Gangs; Education; Community Policing <br />Budget and Budget Narrative: <br />Funds will be utilized for personnel overtime. No funds are allocated for travel, supplies, consultants or <br />contracts. <br />Timeline and /or project plan: Identify when the goals and objectives will be completed <br />Months 1 -36: Gang Enforcement and Community Complaint enforcement continues throughout the life <br />of the grant. <br />Months 1 -36: Educational endeavors continue throughout the life of the grant. <br />Funding: <br />Total Allocation: $115,433 <br />PROACT Contribution: (101/0) $1.1,543 <br />Administrative Fee (9'%): $10,389 <br />Funds Retained by City /County: $93,501 <br />2013 -DJ -BX -1065 Page 25 of 29 <br />
