DAILY MAINTENANCE <br />MORNING 1. Inspect Har'TrU Surface for minor scuffing. l[ baseline areas require divot <br />repair, lute arid re-dress aSnecessary. <br />Z. Rer80ve any weed growth problems arid foreign debris from the surface. <br />3^ Inspect tapes arid nails for lifting 0fshifting. <br />4. Groom surface with an AUSSie Clean Sweep, Court Rake or a Drag Brush. Make <br />wide turns with the Drag Brush to avoid accumulation nfHar'Tnu material. The <br />Aussie Clean Sweep serves Jdual purpose; as8smoothing/leveling too[ (with <br />teeth iA the 8p position) and 8 debris remover (with teeth in the down position), <br />5. Sweep the line tapes. Ensure the line tape area beneath the net has been <br />swept. Use Line Scrub tO rennove Surface material that adheres toLhgline <br />tripe. <br />6. Roll the surface if necessary, Make wide turris, Avoid twisting and turning <br />motions that cause surface damage. <br />7. Sweep the tape lines after the surface has been rolled for aC|ea0er looking line <br />(optional). <br />8. Ensure that the net arid C$nLor strap iS set correctly. <br />9. Clean benches, coolers, cooler stands, ect. If these iterns are kept on-court <br />during the season, move Lhenoarid grOorDthe surface below oil a regular basis. <br />10.VY3sh Out the Tenni8 Two-Step oD6 daily basis ifpossible. <br />1l Inspect Windscreens. <br />12.EnSUreLine Sweeper, Aussie Clean Sweep, Court Rake and Drag Brush are <br />stored properly arid d0 not pose 6 hazard t0players. <br />MID-DAY <br />Mid-day maintenance keeps the court looking and playing as well during late <br />ate|D80n GSit plays in the morning, The ideal situation Would be for <br />maintenance time t0 be scheduled so courts c0u|d be brushed, lines swept arid <br />the surface watered properly. The moisture level in the court profile. should <br />remain adequate until the next maintenance period. <br />EVENING <br />Adequate brushing and thorough watering will ensure quality playing conditions <br />the following day. <br />1. Brush in alternate directions, particularly around baseline areas tnsmooth <br />surface prior to watering. Alternate direction of brushing on a nightly basis. <br />2. Water the cnurt in a "cycling method" to accompli�h a thorough watering during <br />the course 8faA evening with aS little run-off nf water as possible. Proper <br />timing of watering cycles is best deterrnined by observation, The ideal situation <br />would be for the court profile L0 retain adequate moisture until the next <br />maintenance period. <br />37 <br />
