ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 2013 -02 <br />The City of Santa Ana is requesting an amendment to Chapter 41 of the Santa <br />Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) relating to planned sign programs to allow <br />provisions for regional commercial centers and attractions. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE ORANGE COUNTY REPORTER: February 14, 2014 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning <br />Ordinance No. 2013 -02. <br />Assistant Planner I Ali Pezeshkpour presented the staff report and <br />recommendation. <br />The public hearing was opened. Gregg Benain, Westfield Corporation, spoke in <br />support of the ordinance. The public hearing was closed. <br />MOTION: Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning <br />Ordinance No. 2013 -02. Planning Commission modified the following: <br />a. Deleted Item a (4) on page 6 of the proposed ordinance, which stated: The <br />sign shell net he Illuminated between 10:00 n and sunrise when placed <br />location that as visible f.em n property used or zoned for residential <br />purposes. <br />b. Modified Item j (3) on page 8 of the proposed ordinance to change the <br />words "are to" to "may" on the second sentence to read: "The proposed <br />signage is compatible with the scale, intensity, and site development <br />characteristics on which it is proposed. Scale, intensity, and site <br />development characteristics maybe determined by:" <br />c.
