ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT ADDENDUM <br />Bristol Street Widening Phase IIIB — Washington Avenue to 17" Street <br />2.0 ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST <br />2.1 Background <br />Project Title: Bristol Street Widening, Phase IIIB Project <br />Lead Agency Name and Address: <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, M -36 <br />Santa Ana, CA 92702 <br />Contact Person and Phone Number: <br />Kenny Nguyen, P.E. <br />Senior Civil Engineer <br />City of Santa Ana <br />(714) 647 -5632 <br />Project Location: Bristol Street from Washington Avenue to 1761 Street in the City of Santa Ana. <br />Project Sponsor's Name and Address: <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, M -36 <br />Santa Ana, CA 92702 <br />General Plan Designation: General Commercial (GC) <br />Zoning: Specific Plan (SPl) <br />Description of Project: <br />The City of Santa Ana is proposing to widen the Bristol Street between Washington Avenue and 17`h <br />Street from four lanes to six lanes with a 150 -foot wide right -of -way cross section including a 14 -foot <br />wide raised landscaped median; three 12 -foot wide through travel lanes in each direction; a 7 -foot wide <br />Class lI bike lane on each side of the roadway; a 15 -foot wide parkway; and 10 -foot sidewalks with curb <br />ramps for wheelchair access (pursuant to American with Disabilities Act of 1990 requirements) on both <br />sides of the roadway. As Bristol Street approaches its intersection with 17t" Street, the landscaped center <br />median would taper to accommodate right -turn pockets and left -turn lanes in each direction. The <br />widening would require full acquisitions of 14 parcels fronting ,Bristol Street as detailed in Table 1 <br />(Property Acquisitions) of this Addendum. The proposed Project would also install an approximately 8- <br />foot high block wall at approximately the same location where the soundwall was previously <br />recommended (as addressed in the 1990 FEIS /EIR). <br />Surrounding Land Uses and Setting: <br />The Project site is located within a fully developed urban area within the City of Santa Ana.
