CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS <br />• Zoo has been re- accredited by the National Association of Zoos and <br />Aquariums; and <br />• Bike to Work event that promoted healthy living will be held on May <br />7th, starting at Santa Ana Work Center. <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Thanked staff for coordinating the Meet and Greet of the <br />Board /Commission members and commended Councilmember Reyna <br />for proposing event; <br />• Encouraged all to attended the Farmer's Market on Thursdays from 2 <br />to 8 p.m.; and <br />• Thanked Carlos Menendez for inviting her to the International Food <br />event at Pentecostal Church. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Asked all to conserve water; <br />• Meet and Greet event with Board and Commission members well <br />attended; thanked all for service; <br />• Park Santiago held annual Easter event was successful with over 200 <br />families in attendance; <br />• Attended "Relay for Life" hosted at Santa Ana College on April 26th; <br />proposed City team for next year; <br />• Celebration of Children on Myrtle Street held over the weekend was <br />fun and well attended; <br />• Co- Hosting a High School Leadership Conference with Boys and Girls <br />Club on Saturday, April 26th; <br />• Noted that U.S. has over 2,000 zoos, but only 250 are accredited <br />including our very own in the City of Santa Ana; <br />• Wished all a Happy Easter; <br />• Shop in Santa Ana; and <br />• Requested meeting be adjourned in memory of Richard Soria. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Attended Hispanic Chamber of Commerce event on Saturday, April <br />12th; <br />• Announced that daughter, Anals will be attending Orange County High <br />School of the Arts next year; proud of her accomplishments; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 18 APRIL 15, 2014 <br />1 0A -18 <br />
