THE SANTA ANA LIBRARY <br />The Main Library is located at 26 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana CA 92701. The Main Library <br />provides Spanish, English and Vietnamese books, DVDs, music CDs and books on CD for <br />adults, teens and children. It also offers bilingual computer training and access for adults, teens <br />and children, as well as story times in English and Spanish and special programs for children and <br />families. Also available are workshops, gaming and activities for teens, and workshops for <br />limited English speaking adults, Bilingual tutoring for children and teens is provided in the <br />Library Learning Center. The Main Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. <br />to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10;00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, and is closed on Sunday. <br />The Newhope Branch Library is located at 122 North Newhope Street, Santa Ana CA <br />92703, The Newhope Library provides all types of books and audiovisual materials in English, <br />Spanish and Vietnamese for children and teens, as well as story times in English and Spanish and <br />special programs for children, and supports a branch of the Santa Ana Public Library Teen Club. <br />It offers computer access for adults, children and teens. Bilingual tutoring for children and teens <br />is available in the Library Learning Center. The Newhope Branch Library is open Monday <br />through Thursday fiom 2;00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is <br />closed on Friday and Sunday. <br />1. SCOPE <br />The City's goal is to provide deterrence against crimes of vandalism, theft and bodily injury at <br />the two Library locations. The Contractor shall provide unarmed uniformed security services in <br />and around the Library properties as requested by the City, Contract security personnel shall <br />assist the Library in meeting its security objectives. <br />1I. RESPONSIBILITY OF CONTRACTOR <br />The Contractor will provide security guard services 60 hours per week to the Central Library <br />location and 20 hours per week to the Newhope Branch Library for a total of 80 hours combined <br />per week for the two locations, during normal operating hours. The Contractor shall perform the <br />following: <br />• Perform roving patrols of interior and exterior building areas. <br />• Complete incident and daily operating reports, <br />• Respond as necessary to support other life safety duties as identified in post orders and <br />standard operating procedures. <br />• Direct patrons to areas within the Library and the Civic Center. <br />• Report building maintenance and safety concerns as necessary. <br />• Enforce Library rules as required. <br />• Mitigate various issues that arise in and around the Library based on Civic Center activity. <br />The Contractor shall provide all managernem, supervision, and overhead for all contractor's <br />employees and shall be solely responsible for instituting and invoking disciplinary action of <br />Page 8 of 14 <br />25D -15 <br />
