• STAFF UPDATE & COMMENTS <br />o Mr. Mouet introduced Enrique Marban and indicated he was promoted to <br />Community Services Supervisor to manage Area 6. Enrique has over 17 <br />years experience with the city. <br />o The city has filled all the Community Services Supervisor's position with the <br />following individuals: <br />• Area 1: Rudy Hernandez <br />• Area 2: Juan Lara <br />• Area 3: Anthony Novella <br />• Area 4: Erendira Moreno <br />• Area 5: William Sandoval <br />• Area 6: Enrique Marban <br />COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS <br />o Councilmember Reyna indicated the additional activities /events Downtown <br />are great. Also glad to hear about the Catalina Trip and Youth Sports. He <br />announced the High School Leadership Program in April is free and the need <br />lk� to fill the openings in the Youth Commission (ages 11 to 14). <br />PREY Regular Meeting Page 4 January 27, 2014 <br />and Santa Ana Unified School District. The five year extension will allow us <br />time to look into options. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Tinajero left the meeting at 6:18pm and relinquished the Chair to <br />Councilmember Amezcua. <br />• <br />Councilmember Reyna indicated the Heritage Museum; 7 acre property is a <br />nature reserve with historical homes. <br />• <br />Mr. Mouet indicated the possibility of extending the bike trail to connect to the <br />Heritage Museum. <br />• <br />Mr. Mouet shared the Sports Field Maintenance Schedule that showed when <br />fields will be renovated. The schedule is designed to accommodate the <br />various sports organizations, programs and carnival dates. We need a <br />schedule in order to keep the fields green and well maintained. There are 44 <br />sports fields (31 city fields and 13 Joint use fields). Our priority is to <br />accommodate youth leagues. <br />• <br />Councilmember Reyna indicated the City needs to bring back Youth Sports <br />Program. <br />• <br />Mr. Cavazos indicated the Strategic Plan identifies the need to bring back <br />year round Youth Sports. <br />• <br />Councilmember Reyna indicated the old Recreation Youth Program would <br />generate approximately $30,000 in revenue and how would the program fit <br />into the schedule. <br />• <br />Mr. Mouet indicated the City Programs would get priority over field usage. <br />• <br />Enrique Marban indicated Rookie Ball will begin on July 1St. <br />o <br />Councilmember Reyna requested the youth sports schedule be sent out to all <br />the City Council members. <br />• STAFF UPDATE & COMMENTS <br />o Mr. Mouet introduced Enrique Marban and indicated he was promoted to <br />Community Services Supervisor to manage Area 6.
