The South Main Corridor is the gateway into our city from Orange County's John Wayne Airport and from recently built residential developments at West MacArthur and South Main Street, i.e. The Skyline at MacArthur Place, The Marke Apartments, and the Pinnacle at MacArthur Place. The South Main Corridor has no cohesive "branding" as a desirable area to draw the residents or visitors for shopping, dining, or recreation. South Main Street has a run down appearance. The South Main Corridor does not provide an attractive package for Santa Ana's Economic Development Division to encourage stores to relocate or invest. The South Main Corridor screams "run down ", "unsafe" and "undesirable" to the first time visitor. The South Main Corridor is plagued with commercial code enforcement violations: i.e.illegal or excessive or non - existent signage, shops displaying their wares on the sidewalks and facades with peeling paint. Graffiti abatement is a daily challenge. There is a shortage of r C'_ CM 5-20 -IL4 65A
