REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JULY 1, 2014 <br />TITLE: <br />HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION <br />AGREEMENT NO. 2014-02 FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2335 NORTH <br />OAKMONT AVENUE <br />�I <br />CIT MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with <br />Giles Benjamin Boden Candy and Kristin Meredith Candy, property owners, for the structure <br />located at 2335 North Oakmont Avenue, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION ACTION <br />Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute <br />the attached agreement with Giles Benjamin Boden Candy and Kristin Meredith Candy, property <br />owners, for the structure located at 2335 North Oakmont Avenue, subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney at its June 5, 2014 meeting by a vote <br />of 7:0 (Hitterdale absent). <br />DISCUSSION <br />This action allows for the approval of a Historic Property Preservation Agreement (Mills Act <br />Contract) which provides a potential property tax reduction allowing the property owner to <br />reinvest the tax savings into the maintenance of the historic property (Exhibit A).
