Next Steps <br />• Community engagement and outreach strategic <br />• Opportunity for Collaboration and Partnerships <br />Senator Lou Correa expressed continued commitment to work collaboratively to <br />end homelessness. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />• Tim Houchen, representative of Civic Center Roundtable, official speaker for the <br />task force, roundtable has met with reps from City Manager's office, Police Chief and <br />two councilmembers; concerned that task force notified of Special meeting through <br />County; group formed with goal to end homelessness; would like to be included in <br />decision making and solutions; strategic plan lacks specifics on how needs of <br />homeless will be met and implementation of Plan. <br />• Brizy Mae, delegate of Civic Center Roundtable, spoke of personal necessities, <br />cease takings and citations; proposed use of former Orange County Transportation <br />Authority (OCTA) bus station, will be making formal request for use of facility. <br />• Carl Brown, member of Civic Center Roundtable, spoke of housing program in Los <br />Angeles, offered in Skid Row, rental fee of $64 a month and Section 8 assistance; <br />permanent programs and services needed. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 9 JUNE 12, 2014 <br />
