CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS <br />• Introduced new Downtown Development Manager, Leigh Harvey; and <br />• Noted that 45 -day public review period on the Street Car project <br />underway. <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Noted that City has held three outreach meetings on Street Car <br />Project; look forward to City Council consideration; <br />• Request Strategic Plan strategies be included in the Agenda; aligned <br />with goals; need to coordinate and implement for the next City Council <br />Meeting <br />• Asked that Police staff provide badge number and name when <br />requested by members of the public; important to build communication <br />and relations; <br />• City to address gang injunction and urge all to respect; and <br />• Committed to providing resources needed throughout the community. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento: <br />• Thanked all for addressing City Council at tonight's meeting and <br />colleagues for making tough decisions; <br />• Commented on City's past financial struggles and ability to hire <br />employees lost through attrition; <br />• Proposed fee reduction for Mills Act processing fees; matter discussed <br />at the Development Council Committee; <br />• Wished all a Happy 4th of July and <br />• Reported that he attended NALEO Conference in San Diego. <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Congratulated City Manager for recovering OCFA escrow funds; <br />• Thanked staff for drafting City initiative on medical marijuana - <br />competing measures for voters to decide <br />• Invited all to attend 4th of July celebration at Centennial Park. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Urged all to conserve water; <br />• Attended NALEO conference, great workshops; meet other elected <br />officials throughout the country; <br />• Wished all a happy and safe 4th of July and invited all to attend the <br />City's Fireworks event; <br />• Request that allocation of Community Development Block Grant fund <br />to available to the community; direct staff to agendize for City Council <br />or Council Committee discussion; and <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 29 JULY 1, 2014 <br />1 OA -29 <br />
