Agreement for Traffic Signal and <br />Street Lighting Maintenance <br />August 5, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />Staff recommends that the contract for traffic signal and street lighting maintenance services be <br />awarded to Aegis ITS, Inc. Although there is only one vendor which effectively responded to the <br />RFP, the recommended award is based on the demonstrated experience and exceptional <br />performance in delivering these services to the City over the past 5 years under the existing <br />contract, and also that the new contract limit is the same as the previous one. <br />The contract approved by this Council action will be effective September 1, 2014, through August <br />31, 2017, with a provision for two one -year extensions exercisable by the City Manager. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing <br />infrastructure to protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Based on the submitted bids, the total estimated annual contract cost is $650,000, which includes <br />$620,000 for traffic signal maintenance and $30,000 for street lighting maintenance.
