Contract Award for Arterial Streets Resurfacing <br />Using Tire Rubber Modified Slurry <br />August 5, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />To determine future preference, the performance of this product will be compared with another <br />project area using the REAS product. <br />Bid procedures have been followed as established by the City's Municipal Code and in adherence <br />to the Public Contracts Code. The bid amount of <br />$890,800 compares favorably to the Engineer's Estimate of $1,100,000. Based on the bids <br />received, staff recommends award of this TRMSS contract to Roy Allan Slurry Seal, Inc. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing <br />infrastructure to protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended actions are exempt <br />from further review.
