I " <br />el Fenix <br />MOBILIZA)IOX- EMPoWERMENIMEN IOREXIV <br />uvw.N- /enian,9 <br />Attn: Santa Ana City Council <br />Subject: Council Meeting for 8/5/2014 Item 85A DISCUSSION OF BICYCLE REGISTRATION AND TICKETING <br />POLICY (SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 10 -196 THROUGH 10 -209) - (Councilmember Martinez) <br />El Fenix, as a member of the newly formed Santa Ana Active Streets Coalition (SAAS), is excited to see <br />this item open for discussion. <br />I would like to request that the City Council consider opening this item up further and schedule a <br />meeting with SAAS, City Staff /Council and any other interested parties or individual to discuss the <br />current ordinances regarding bicycle registration and ticketing. The objective of this meeting would be <br />to understand why the ordinance exists in its present form, discuss the effectiveness and provide time <br />for adequate research of alternative solutions or modifications.
