CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2014 -07 <br />Core Development Services, representing Verizon Wireless, is requesting approval <br />of a 58 -foot high wireless facility disguised as a pine tree at 711 South Grand <br />Avenue, located in the Light Industrial (M1) zoning district. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE ORANGE COUNTY REPORTER: April 18, 2014 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: April 18, 2014 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2014 -07 as conditioned. <br />Assistant Planner I Ali Pezeshkpour presented the staff report and recommendation. <br />Kim Nguyen representing Verizon spoke in support of the project. <br />The public hearing was opened. No public members spoke. STAFF COMMENTS <br />Acting Planner Manager Vince Fregoso commented that the Specific Plan and <br />DEIR, in disc format, were provided to the Commission for preview in advance of the <br />May 12, 2014 Planning Commission public hearing. <br />Mr. Fregoso announced a reception will be held after the meeting for Martha <br />Ramirez who is retiring on May 2, 2014. <br />3. PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Bacerra inquired about the status of the adaptive reuse ordinance. <br />Mr. Fregoso provided information. <br />Commissioner Gartner extended best of luck wishes and thanked Martha. He <br />announced that his son recently graduated from Rocky Mountain Aviation College in <br />Billings, Montana. <br />Commissioner Nalle congratulated Commissioner Gartner and thanked Martha. <br />Commissioner Yrarrazaval extended best of luck wishes to Martha. <br />Vice Chair Mill commented that certain all -age events in the Downtown area expose <br />children to drugs; SAPID should be more vigilant during these events. <br />Planning Commission Minutes Page 2 of 3 April 28, 2014 <br />
